NITRONIC 60 Stainless Steel is available in bar forging billets, sheet, strip plate, forgings, castings, and seamless tubing.  NITRONIC 60 was covered by U.S. Patent 3,912,503.

 

Heat Treatment

NITRONIC 60 is not hardenable by heat treatment, as it is an austenitic alloy.  Annealing at 1950°F followed by water quenching is recommended for best corrosion resistance.  High strengths can be attained easily by cold working or hot working, without subsequent Solution annealing.
